M140i/M240i (B58)
335bhp from the factory. 500bhp on stock internals. The B58 is BMW's gift to tuners.
The straight-six twin-scroll turbo B58 3.0 is one of the most impressive and tuneable engines BMW have ever produced. Found in every x40i model, including the M140i and M240i, and in the Toyota Supra, it has so much potential that the standard 335bhp and 500nm can be hugely improved with even the lightest of modifications.
X37 and X49R: our hybrid turbos for the B58
With the right upgrades these B58-powered cars become true supercar rivals, with over 500bhp easily reached on stock internals — crazy in such a small and lightweight package. We are delighted to offer our X37 and X49R turbos for the B58 platform. They are designed to spool as close as possible to the stock turbo while offering a considerable jump in power over the standard unit.
BMW M140i fitted with the X37: stock file with hardware installed, 353.7bhp / 483.0nm. MAXD custom file on 99 RON, 520.9bhp / 616.1nm. MAXD custom file on an E85 blend (E30), 540.1bhp / 632.2nm. With the Dorch Stage 2 pump and the X49 Pumaspeed hybrid, 610bhp / 678nm.

Keeping up with the best of them
Check out the Dragy time below. A customer supplied it after being shocked at how quick his car was: Pumaspeed X49R hybrid turbocharger, HLC tune, Spool FX180 fuel pump.
Our own M240i, and the Vargas range
Our first BMW development vehicle is fitted with this fantastic engine, and we have developed both Stage 1 and Stage 2 MAXD-Out remaps with the relevant hardware on our M240i. We have now taken the car one step further with our X-Series hybrid turbo and Stage 3 MAXD-Out mapping, resulting in well over 500bhp.
We also stock the Vargas range. The GC and GC+ turbochargers take your B58 to a huge 550-580bhp with the GC on a standard engine with the upgraded B58TU fuel pump and matching hardware, and the mighty GC+ with its newly cast manifold can achieve a huge 700bhp with the Dorch Stage 2+ fuel pump and a forged engine such as our exclusive B58R.
There is some serious engineering in the Vargas range: Mar-M 246 aero-engineered compressor wheels with point-milled blades to maximise airflow and eliminate compressor surge, and completely new cast units with a 3-inch inlet elbow and optional install kit. GC stands for “game changer” — a very suitable name. See the video below as we compare the X37 hybrid against the Vargas VTT GC and GC+.
