The options explained:

Hybrid Turbo - The incredible X37 quickspool hybrid turbocharger from Pumaspeed has pedigree in its blood and is designed to help the B58 motor found in the M140i and M240i platform breathe properly, allowing for up to 530bhp to be produced on 99 Ron pump fuel. It is manufactured with cut back exhaust blades, a newly designed 7 blade turbine wheel with extended tips, reverse rotation geometery, improved thrust bearing for better lubrication and thus, longevity, and a CNC machined re-profiled compressor cover. Designed as a quickspool hybrid turbo, the X37 spools just as well as the stock unit yet produces an additional 50bhp over and abov the standard turbo in back to back testing, win win! After many many miles of road, track and dyno time, we can proudly say that the new X37 is bolt-on ready and will make well over 500bhp with the recommended hardware and MAXD Stage 3R remap. Air Filter - The standard airbox is perfectly capable of coping with the air flow demands of the PS530 mapping, the standard air filter however is identical throughout the petrol BMW range and a high flow panel filter really lets your B58 engine breathe. As with anything there are good and bad panel filters, and since this is your engines only way of breathing fresh air, it makes sense to go for the best on the market. An induction kit such as the MST or Osprey kits take this one step further by replacing the restrictive airbox connecting pipe, ideal for upgrading to stage 3 and beyond at a later date. Pumaspeed Recommends: ITG Pro Panel Filter.

Downpipe - The stock catalytic converter has only been designed to cope with the heat produced by the stock power level, when pushing towards stage 2 power levels the cat temps will rise to a point where it will begin to cause damage to the internals of your stock catalyst, also due to the small pipe diameter they tend to be rather restrictive. A decat gives the best value for money and as a by product you will gain more noise, a sports cat won't give you quite such a noticable noise gain but will keep you fully road legal and pass an MOT. Pumaspeed Recommends: R-Sport 4.5" Decat Downpipe.

Chargecooler - The chargecooler from factory on the M140i and M240i is quite impressive, but for stage 3 power, a replacement chargecooler is strongly recommended for track use to cope with the additional heat of the extra 200bhp. For road use the stock chargecooler is perfectly adequate, however upgrading to the R-Sport PRO chargecooler will massively lower your coolant temperatures and intake air temperatures, naturally giving more performance when the going gets hot! Direct fit to all existing pipework with 100% alloy constuction, you simply can't get better for less! Pumaspeed Recommends: R-Sport PRO Chargecooler.

Remapping - The hot topic on every BMW owners mind, which mapping is best for me and my car? Ultimately it's a very straight forward question to answer, MAXD mapping consistently outperforms it's competitors in all aspects. With this PS530 calibration you will see up to 530bhp and 670nm of torque, huge gains for minimal hardware changes! These figures are backed up by over 5 years of B58 engine development work, independent dyno results and fantastic customer reviews.

The MAXD PS530 gives you the flexibility to customise your calibration to your requirements. By default we include GTS startup roar, recalibrated sport displays, cold start delete and top speed limiter removal. We can by request remove any of these features for an additional cost. You also have the option of recalibrating overrun/crackle for your PS530 map, simply lift off the throttle for a much more enthusiastic exhaust note, without harming your stock catalyst. Pumaspeed recommends: MAXD.
