FAQ

Straight answers to the questions we get asked most, whether you are ordering parts online or booking your car into our Wakefield workshop. If you cannot find what you need, email support@pumaspeed.co.uk or call 01924 360260 and a real person will help.

Ordering and delivery

How quickly will my order arrive?

In-stock items are picked and dispatched from Wakefield on a next-working-day courier service for UK mainland addresses, and we aim to have every in-stock order on its way within 2 to 3 working days at the very latest. International orders travel on express DHL services and typically land within 7 working days of dispatch. Larger items such as full exhaust systems, engines and bodywork go by pallet or road freight, and we will tell you on the product page or at checkout if that applies. All couriers need a signature, so please choose an address where someone will be in.

How much is delivery?

Shipping is worked out from the weight and size of the parts and where they are going. Add anything to your basket and the full table of delivery options and prices for your destination appears underneath it before you pay anything.

Is this part in stock?

We hold a large stock of our own Pumaspeed and R-Sport parts, hybrid turbos, tuning kits and the fast-moving lines from the brands we distribute. Some items, including many Milltek Sport systems and all custom or built-to-order products, are made to order and carry a lead time. If a part is time critical, drop us an email with the part name and your car before you order and we will confirm availability. If anything you have ordered goes on back order for more than 10 days we will keep you updated.

Where is my order and how do I track it?

Once your order is dispatched you will receive the courier tracking details. You can also see the status of every order, along with notes from our dispatch team, on your account page when you are logged in. If you need an update, email support@pumaspeed.co.uk with your order number and we will come straight back to you.

Can I change the delivery address after ordering?

Yes, as long as the order has not been dispatched. To protect you against card fraud we will ask you to verify your identity before we change where the goods are going, so please get in touch as soon as possible.

Can I collect from you?

Of course. Our trade counter at 178 Batley Road, Alverthorpe, Wakefield WF2 0AJ is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm. Order online or by phone, let us know you would like to collect, and we will have it set aside ready for you.

Payment, pricing and international orders

How can I pay?

You can pay online with all major debit and credit cards or with PayPal, and we also accept BACS bank transfer for larger orders. Every transaction is handled through secure, encrypted payment processing. If you would rather spread the cost, Klarna Pay in 3 is available at the online checkout: three interest-free payments, the first at checkout and the other two 30 and 60 days later. We do not take pre-orders. When we run a seasonal offer it is announced on the home page with a code to type into the search bar, and that is the only time a code is needed: the price you see is the price everyone pays.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes. Choose Klarna at the online checkout and select Pay in 3: you pay a third of the order there and then, and Klarna collects the second and third payments 30 and 60 days later, with no interest and no fees when you pay on time. Klarna shows the full terms before you confirm, the decision is made in seconds, and your order is then picked and despatched like any other. Klarna's Pay in 3 is an unregulated credit agreement; borrowing more than you can afford or paying late may negatively impact your financial status and ability to obtain credit. 18+, UK residents only, subject to status. Klarna is available on website orders; for workshop bookings and phone orders just ask us about the best way to pay. See our Klarna page for how it works.

Do you price match?

If you have found the identical product cheaper from a UK stockist, send us the link before you order and we will take a look. We would always rather you bought it from us.

Do you ship outside the UK, and do I pay UK VAT?

We ship worldwide every day. All prices on the site include UK VAT at the current rate, and the VAT is removed automatically at checkout for delivery addresses outside the UK. Import duty and local taxes are not prepaid, so please check what your own country will charge before you order. Business customers in the EU should have their VAT or EORI number ready.

I run a garage or tuning business. Do you offer trade accounts?

Yes. Our trade distribution team supplies motor trade specialists across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, from a single tuning box to pallets of Milltek Sport exhausts. Trade pricing is set per brand and accounts are vetted before any discount is applied. Register your company here and we will be in touch.

Returns, cancellations and warranty

Can I return something I have changed my mind about?

You have 14 days from the day after delivery to tell us you want to return an unwanted item. Email support@pumaspeed.co.uk with your order number and we will issue a Returns Merchant Authorisation (RMA) number. The part must come back unused and unfitted, in its original packaging and in a saleable condition, with the RMA number clearly marked. Return carriage is at your cost, so please use an insured, tracked service, and a 15% restocking fee is deducted from the refund on correctly supplied goods that are simply no longer required. Custom-made, special-order and built-to-order products cannot be returned. Returns without an RMA number, or raised outside the 14-day window, will be refused. Full details are in our terms and conditions.

What if the part arrives damaged, faulty or is not what I ordered?

Please check your parcel within 48 hours of delivery. If anything is damaged, send us photos of the part and all of the packaging straight away so we can open a claim with the courier. If we have sent the wrong item or it is faulty, get in touch and we will put it right at our expense.

How long does a refund take?

Once a return has arrived back with us and been checked, approved refunds are made within 5 to 7 working days to the original payment method. Where you are ordering replacement parts, we can also offset the value of a return against the new order once the return has physically landed, except on special-order parts.

Can I cancel an order?

Contact us as soon as you can. If the order has not been picked or ordered in from a supplier we will cancel it in full. Where our supplier has already charged us or sent the goods, a 15% restocking fee applies, and custom parts made specifically for you cannot be cancelled once production has started.

What warranty do your parts carry?

Parts are covered by the manufacturer's own warranty, which is typically up to 12 months, and we will help you with any claim. Milltek Sport warranties are handled directly by Milltek and we will point you to the right person. Please remember that performance parts are sold for motorsport and competition use, that any warranty excludes damage from misuse, incorrect fitting or racing, and that unfinished products such as GRP bodywork are supplied for you to prepare and paint. Our forged and built engines are supplied without a warranty because the internal components are themselves sold without one, and we are always up front about this before you order.

Tuning and hybrid turbos

What do Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 mean?

Each stage is a complete, matched package of hardware and calibration that we have developed and tested on our own cars. Stage 1 is typically software with a few supporting parts, Stage 2 adds the breathing modifications the engine needs to make more, and Stage 3 brings in one of our hybrid turbochargers for the big numbers. Choose your car from the menu and its tuning page lists every stage with the power it makes and what is included, so you always know the next step.

Can I buy the map on its own?

Our calibrations are supplied with a tuning device rather than as a stand-alone file. The device lets you flash the car yourself, keep a copy of the standard map, switch between files and send us datalogs so we can refine your tune.

I am not local. Can you still tune my car?

Yes, and we do it every day for customers across the UK and overseas. We send you the tuning device, you request your file and send us datalogs from your drives, and we go back and forth until the car is exactly where it should be. All you need is a laptop and a little patience.

I have changed my hardware. Can my map be updated?

Absolutely. Map revisions for new hardware are a chargeable service and the cost depends on which device you have, because some devices hold several map files that all need rewriting and recompiling even for a small change. Tell us what device you are running and what has changed on the car and we will quote you.

What is a hybrid turbo, and how does the exchange work?

A hybrid turbocharger uses the factory housings so it bolts straight on, but with larger, re-engineered compressor and turbine wheels inside for a lot more airflow. Our X-37, X-47, X-49 and X-26 units have set the benchmark on the EcoBoost scene. Most hybrids are sold on an exchange basis: you receive a fully built unit, and a refundable surcharge covers the core until your original turbo arrives back with us. If you would rather keep your original unit, choose the outright option on the product page.

Will tuning affect my manufacturer warranty or insurance?

Any modification can affect a manufacturer's warranty, and you must tell your insurer about performance modifications. Many of our customers use specialist modified-car insurers who are used to tuned Fords. If you are unsure, ask us before you buy and we will be honest with you about what a given stage means for your car.

Workshop, fitting and engines

Can you fit the parts for me?

Yes. Everything we sell can be fitted at our Wakefield workshop by technicians who work on these cars all day, every day. Fitting is priced by the job, so email or call the workshop on 01924 360002 with your car and the parts you are interested in and we will give you a fitted price and the next available date.

How do I book my car in?

Call 01924 360002 or email support@pumaspeed.co.uk with your name, the car (model, year and ideally the registration), your contact details and the work or parts you want. We will confirm the parts are in stock before we lock in your date, so there are no surprises when you arrive. The workshop runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm, and is closed at weekends.

Can I supply my own parts for fitting?

Please ask first. We are happy to discuss it, but we can only stand behind the fitting, not the part, and some products we would not recommend fitting at all. Parts bought from us come with the back-up of a team that knows exactly what they are and how they should go on.

Do you supply replacement and built engines?

We do. From a straight replacement EcoBoost to a fully forged, built-to-spec engine ready for big power, our new engines page has the options. Forged builds are built to order with a lead time of around 6 to 8 weeks. Built engines are motorsport products and are supplied without a warranty; where we fit the engine ourselves it is covered to drive away, and every customer receives a handover sheet covering the running-in and warm-up requirements.

Can you dyno test my car?

Yes. Every package we sell is developed on our own rolling road, and we can run your car to confirm what it is making before and after tuning. Ask about a dyno session when you book.

Getting in touch

What is the best way to ask a technical question?

For a question about a specific product, use the Ask Seller button on that product page so the enquiry lands with the right person along with the exact part. For everything else, email support@pumaspeed.co.uk. Fitment questions are easiest to answer when you include your registration or chassis number.

When are you open?

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm. We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. Emails sent outside these hours are answered on the next working day.
