We didn't just develop this kit. We built a car with it and put it on the dyno. The result, on our own 1.6 EcoBoost Fiesta ST180 development car, custom tuned in house on our MAXD-OUT dyno: 442.8 bhp. Not a projection and not a supplier's brochure figure, but a car we built, ran ten times back to back, and filmed. Buy this kit and this is what you can create.

What it actually made

• 442.8 bhp on the best run
• 1.1 bar already on tap by 2,500 rpm, in a loaded 5th gear
• 1.45 bar at 3,250 rpm, 1.65 bar at 5,000 rpm
• 1.95 bar peak at 7,600 rpm
• Power and torque climbing from 2,750 all the way to 7,750 rpm, a 5,000 rpm window
• Ten back-to-back pulls with no cool-down. The worst, fully heat-soaked run still made 423.3 bhp

Why this turbo and not another

• Next-generation G25 architecture, vastly more efficient than older-generation upgrades such as the GTX28 gen2. A superior power band, responsive spool and relentless top end, without the heavy lag of the older designs.
• The exhaust housing is engineered specifically to stop bolts and hardware vibrating loose over time, the common aftermarket headache.
• The inlet is custom designed to take the original internal dump valve system.
• It mounts directly in the factory location and reuses your original OEM water and oil lines.

What you get in the box

• 1 x Direct Bolt-on G25-550 Turbo
• 1 x 76-76 mm silicone
• 1 x 70-63 turbo outlet, to fit all regular big boost pipe kits such as R-Sport and Airtec

Nothing else is required to plumb it in, as all oil and water lines fit 100% from the stock turbo. We would also suggest a ported exhaust manifold, a new OE gasket kit and a fire ring set.

Be straight with yourself about the supporting build

The car that made 442.8 bhp was not a standard ST180 with a turbo bolted to it. This kit is a genuine direct bolt-on, but the big numbers come from the whole package working together. To get near them safely you will need uprated high-capacity injectors, a larger intercooler and heavy-duty boost pipework, a high-flow downpipe and full exhaust, and a proper custom map.
