Pumaspeed have had incredible success with the X-Series turbos in the Ford tuning market with well over 3,000 units sold over various Ford Performance racing platforms. As Pumaspeed expanded into the BMW tuning world, the next logical step for the X-Series turbo brand was to make a hybrid turbo for our development M240i. An ideal place to start, following the incredible results of the B58 platform found in all M140i, M240i, 340i and 440i models.

Many of the turbos on the market today are manufactured with an obsession of ultimate peak power figures and they forget about turbo spool times and drivability. The B58 X37 hybrid turbo which we have developed here in the UK takes into consideration not only the best performance, but also driving experience. What we have done therefore is produce a turbocharger that will not only make 550bhp with a pump upgrade and mapping, but also keep the stock OE spool time. This means more power, with no turbo lag! See the fantastic X37 on track below, as we challenge a Lotus Exige 410. 

 

 

As you can see in the video, this new X37 hybrid turbo has been designed, manufactured and tested on the road and track here in the UK. The fundamental values of the turbo are to be fast, yet strong, and to offer an edge over competitor hybrids on the market. To achieve this we have taken the OE turbo back to the blueprint and replaced the seals and bearings with fully race capable 360 degree thrust bearings and motorsport quality seals. The internal bore is then made bigger to house a larger, six blade compressor wheel, which is CNC machined and annodised in red. On the turbine side of the turbcharger, we've cut back the exhaust blades to flow more power whilst retaining the stock spool time. This core is then bolted directly into the stock manifold with no modification required. Paired with the B58tu pump and a remap, that's 530bhp worth of turbocharger.

If your car has methanol injection, you can easily see 550bhp on the dyno!

This is an Exchange Unit listing which requires you to send in your stock turbo.

If you cannot send your stock turbo in before hand or don't want the downtime of your car being off the road, we have a solution. A £720 refundable deposit can be applied through the options which means you keep your stock turbo on the car until you receive your X37. At this point you can either return your stock turbo to us which will, once inspected, qualify you for your deposit to be refunded... or you can simply keep your stock turbo. The stock turbo must be returned within fourteen working days to qualify for the deposit to be refunded.

Please note: The X37 is typically kept in stock, but sometimes high popularity means they are manufactured to order and will typically take 5-10 working days for delivery after we receive your stock OE turbo. We do try to keep one unit on the shelf but you are welcome to call to check our stock levels.

Designed as a package deal to bolt onto a Stage 2 car, this kit includes the X37 hybrid turbo, a B58tu pump and you have an option to order the MAXD remap as well as the R-Sport chargecooler.
