Fiesta Mk8 1.0 MHEV
2020 saw Ford update the Mk8 1.0l EcoBoost range with a completely redesigned 3 cylinder unit.
Also seen in the new Focus Mk4 and Puma Mk2, the new 1.0l EcoBoost is available as both a standalone unit and also a mild hybrid setup. The latter being of particular interest to us as it opens up potentially even more tuning opportunities, and offers a new challenge.
If you are unsure on whether you have the old or new spec 1.0l EcoBoost, there is a simple way to identify this. The old unit has the turbocharger immediately in front of you when you open the bonnet on the front of the engine. The new power unit has the turbo hidden between the engine and the bulkhead and therefore uses a completely different intake system.
