Introducing the brand new Pumaspeed Competition uprated clutch kit range to suit the ST Mk4 Focus!

When tuning the 2.3 EcoBoost found in the latest generation of Focus ST, getting tonnes of extra power and torque has never been an issue for the guys at Pumaspeed and MAXD. However, getting the power delivered to both front wheels has sometimes been an issue with the stock clutch setup which is almost at it's limit at stage 2R levels of 360bhp.

The Pumaspeed Competition uprated clutch kit range plugs a gap in the market for an affordable clutch solution which can cope with all the additional torque and power found in highly tuned cars over 350bhp, as tested in our own demo car. This is also achieved without the crazy heavy pedal feel found in some competitor clutch setups, so whether your ST is a track day weapon, a weekend B-Road basher, or your daily driver, this clutch will suit your driving style perfectly.

 

So what's the difference between the Pumaspeed Competiton clutch range?

Stage 2: 
Our entry level unit offers a unique hybrid construction. Normally your clutch plate itself has two faces, which are pretty much identical in terms of material and construction. However with this clutch kit, the flywheel side is an organic friction plate providing the OE pedal feel, and the gearbox side is a 8 puck cerametalic setup providing the additional strength to cope with all the additional torque you're ready to put through it!
Recommended use: Fast Road and Light Track (390bhp+)
Stage 3:
This mid level clutch takes our Stage 2 unit one step further by offering the 8 puck cerametalic material on both sides of the clutch plate. Expect a slightly more snappy pedal feel due to the stronger construction of this Stage 3 clutch kit, but much higher power and torque capabilities.
Recommended use: Heavy Track (420bhp+)
Stage 4:
Our ultimate clutch, built with a full 6 paddle plate for maximum torque applications. Replacing the 8 puck cerametalic material with a heavy duty purpose built 6 paddle cerametalic rigid backed plate. For competition purposes or high horsepower builds, this clutch is a must have modification to ensure no clutch slip, whilst retaining the OE dual mass flywheel!
Recommended use: Race, Drag and Rally (450bhp+)

 


*We recommend the purchase of a new slave cylinder when replacing any clutch as it requires no additional labour to fit. A new dual mass flywheel is also recommended on higher mileage cars where the existing flywheel face is badly scored*

*We strongly advise a 300 mile break-in procedure to ensure the clutch and flywheel mate together as well as possible and to not cause premature wear on your new clutch*
