Pumaspeed Fiesta Mk7.5 1.0 EcoBoost Stage 2R tuning package: 167 to 170bhp from the standard turbocharger, tried and tested on the road and on the track. The MAXD Out Stage 2R remap, R-Sport intercooler and induction, and a full Milltek Sport turbo-back exhaust let the stock turbo do everything it can. Day-to-day economy and reliability are unaffected, and it is an easy DIY fit or fitted in our workshop.

The ZS170 package is designed for those who want to get the most from the stock motor and turbocharger. We found the standard turbo to be maxed out at 170bhp, and engine reliability compromised at 190 to 200bhp, so 170 is where we stop on the stock turbo: safe, reliable, big power and a wide power band. If you want more than that, the X-26 hybrid turbo in the Stage 3R kit is the next step.

Small engine, big numbers

The 1.0 EcoBoost is a real eco dream, with fuel economy high into the 60s and 70mpg, and a very real improvement on the older 1600cc Ti-VCT unit that traces its roots back to the 1990s Fiesta and Focus. Do not for one second think this pocket engine is too small: the power and torque we can extract from the stock motor and turbo will amaze you. With its quick-spooling turbo it will easily outpace any previous 1600cc Fiesta, and even the older 2000cc ST150 is no problem for this motor in tuned form.

After 12,000 miles of performance testing, and consultation with engineers around the world, Pumaspeed explored many versions of engine tune and component combination to bring you a range of products that enhance the performance of the Fiesta 1.0 turbo EcoBoost. Each kit is built from strictly quality-controlled components that add flow to both the induction and exhaust sides of the motor. The components can be bought one at a time, or as a full kit fitted at the Pumaspeed workshop. The limit we are happy to push the stock piston and rod combination to is 170bhp, which is more than the stock turbo can deliver.

The graph shows an almost perfect power and torque curve. Notice that 160bhp is available from 4,500rpm all the way to the 6,600rpm redline. This exceptional power delivery lets you run over 160bhp all the way to the top speed of 140mph.
