Pumaspeed Fiesta Mk7.5 1.0 EcoBoost Stage 1R tuning package: the essential first upgrade for the three-cylinder Fiesta. The MAXD Out Stage 1R remap, paired with your choice of R-Sport induction system, wakes the little engine up, adds the induction noise every owner wants and is capable of up to 160bhp. What the Stage 1R kit contains

Pumaspeed are constantly developing performance packages for the Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost, from this simple bolt-on Stage 1R kit for a newly bought car right up to the 205bhp X-26 hybrid turbo. We understand how daunting it can be choosing the right parts, so we have simplified the Stage 1R package with our recommendations below. The standard airbox copes perfectly well with Stage 1R mapping, but a high-flow filter really lets the engine breathe, and an induction kit adds much more induction noise on the throttle and an addictive turbo flutter when you lift off.

The options explained

Mapping. MAXD Out mapping consistently outperforms its competitors, and it is the software behind every stage of our 1.0 EcoBoost development. Choose the MAXD Out tuning tool and you flash the car yourself at home: all you need is a Windows laptop, and you can switch maps or return to the stock map at any time. Or choose Workshop Fitted and we install it at Pumaspeed HQ in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Please call to book in advance.

Air filter. The R-Sport Cyclone and K&N panel filter drop straight into the standard airbox. The R-Sport Stage 1 intake kit replaces the airbox with a cone filter for the induction noise. The ITG Maxogen Pro is the premium cone filter option. The R-Sport Stage 3 intake kit goes one step further by also replacing the restrictive airbox hose and crossover pipe, and is the one to pick if you plan to go on to Stage 2R. Already have a filter? Select No Air Filter Required. Pumaspeed recommends: R-Sport Stage 1 intake kit.

Dump valve. The stock plastic dump valve sits beside a hot turbo and can suffer from fatigue over time; in the worst case it cracks, causing a boost leak and a loss of power. A Turbosmart replacement removes the problem. The plumb-back valve keeps the standard, quiet behaviour; the atmospheric valve vents to air for more turbo noise when you lift off the throttle.

Intercooler. Most turbo cars benefit from an uprated intercooler once you start adding power. The R-Sport Stage 3 intercooler, in silver or black, is the same unit used in our Stage 2R kit, so adding it now means you are already halfway to the next stage.

Compare the stages

Stage 1R is the remap and intake. Stage 2R adds the R-Sport intercooler and a full Milltek Sport turbo-back exhaust for up to 170bhp on the standard turbo. Stage 3R adds our X-26 hybrid turbo for 205bhp.
