PBS ProTrack rear brake pads, part number 8002PT, for the BMW All E36 (excluding M3) and Pad 8002. ProTrack is the PBS ceramic metallic compound, with a milder initial bite than ProRace, great control, low noise and dust and long pad life, ideal for track days and lighter track use. Supplied per axle set.

PBS Performance Brake Solutions make high performance brake pads for track and race use, built by racing drivers for racing drivers. They are known for excellent pedal feel, consistent braking, low dust and great rotor life. ProTrack is the PBS ceramic metallic compound, with a milder initial bite than ProRace, great control, low noise and dust and long pad life, ideal for track days and lighter track use.

• Material: ceramic metallic
• Friction (mu): 0.40 to 0.48
• Working temperature: 0 to 700 degrees C
• Best for: track days, light occasional track use, wet conditions and race series that use a low grip tyre. Excellent fade resistance, low noise and dust, long pad life.

The PBS compound range

• ProTrack: ceramic metallic, mu 0.40 to 0.48, 0 to 700 degrees C. Track days, light track use and wet conditions.
• ProRace: ceramic graphite, mu 0.36 to 0.58, 0 to 800 degrees C. Serious track days and racing.
• ProComp S1 / S2: high metallic competition compounds. S1 has the best low temperature performance (mu 0.47 to 0.50); S2 has the highest friction (mu 0.52 to 0.56).
• ProComp E1: endurance racing, with the best wear rate in the ProComp range (mu 0.38 to 0.43).
• ProComp R: rear axle compound with lower bite, smooth release and very low wear.

Bedding in and fitting

New pads and discs should be bedded in using the PBS procedure before hard use: a series of progressively harder stops that build heat gradually, then a proper cool down. We recommend fresh brake fluid (a high temperature fluid for track use) and checking the discs for wear and cracking. Fitting is available at our garage in Wakefield.
