PBS ProRace front brake pads, part number 8182PR, for the Mazda MX5 (NB) - SVT Sport / MazdaSpeed and Pads. ProRace is the PBS ceramic graphite race compound, with great initial bite, excellent control and feel and powerful stopping power, and it is the compound of choice for many track day users. Supplied per axle set.

They are known for excellent pedal feel, consistent braking, low dust and great rotor life. ProRace is the PBS ceramic graphite race compound, with great initial bite, excellent control and feel and powerful stopping power, and it is the compound of choice for many track day users.

• ProTrack: ceramic metallic, mu 0.40 to 0.48, 0 to 700 degrees C. Track days, light track use and wet conditions.
• ProRace: ceramic graphite, mu 0.36 to 0.58, 0 to 800 degrees C. Serious track days and racing.
• ProComp S1 / S2: high metallic competition compounds. S1 has the best low temperature performance (mu 0.47 to 0.50); S2 has the highest friction (mu 0.52 to 0.56).
• ProComp E1: endurance racing, with the best wear rate in the ProComp range (mu 0.38 to 0.43).
• ProComp R: rear axle compound with lower bite, smooth release and very low wear.

Bedding in and fitting

New pads and discs should be bedded in using the PBS procedure before hard use: a series of progressively harder stops that build heat gradually, then a proper cool down. We recommend fresh brake fluid (a high temperature fluid for track use) and checking the discs for wear and cracking. Fitting is available at our garage in Wakefield.
