Below are the all important dyno results, from our extensive research and development work over the past 12 months, that you can expect from the Pumaspeed GR365 power package. Run in full 4WD mode with 99RON Shell V-Power fuel, these are realistic UK figures on the three individual boost settings we have set on the Syvecs standalone ECU.

We understand how daunting it can be selecting the correct exhaust system or correct induction kit for your car so we have simplified this GR350 package deal with our simple and cost efficient recommendations below.

The options explained:

Intake - The standard airbox is perfectly capable of coping with the air flow demands of the GR350 mapping, the standard air filter however is fairly basic and a high flow panel filter really lets your GR Yaris engine breathe. As with anything there are good and bad panel filters, and since this is your engines only way of breathing fresh air, it makes sense to go for the best on the market. Alternatively you can take this one step further and replace the stock airbox with a cold air intake for additional air flow and more intake and turbo noise!
Pumaspeed Recommends: ITG Maxogen Intake.

Downpipe - The stock catalytic converter has only been designed to cope with the heat produced by the stock power level, when pushing towards GR350 power levels the cat temps will rise to a point where it will begin to cause damage to the internals of your stock catalyst, also due to the small pipe diameter they tend to be rather restrictive. A decat downpipe gives the best value for money and as a by product you will gain more noise and air flow, a sports cat won't give you quite such a noticable noise gain but will keep you fully road legal and pass an MOT.

Exhaust - For most people, the exhaust will be the first thing to change on your new car, and rightly so. Not only will it give more noise personalising the car to your liking, but it will offer a performance benefit too! To a certain extent, the larger bore exhaust, the more exhaust gases you can flow and the more power you can make. However, go too far and you will lose back pressure and power. The sweet spot is 3 inch with the exhaust. Pumaspeed, Milltek and Scorpion all do a range of exhaust volumes. The best value for money we feel is the Pumaspeed Racing, offering full 3 inch performance at a bargain price!

Intercooler - Most turbo cars tend to benefit from an uprated intercooler once you start adding more power, the GR Yaris has a particularly poor stock intercooler which struggles at even stock levels of power in hot climates. On the dyno we have seen power drop off significantly after back to back power runs. So at GR350 levels of power you definitely need an upgrade. The UK manufactured Pumaspeed Racing Re-Active intercoolers are the best in the business. They are capable of even hybrid turbo levels of power for if you do plan on pushing up to and over 400bhp. The GR Yaris also has almost comically small 35mm stock boost pipes which desperately need upgrading in the pursuit of performance. Fortunately the Re-Active intercooler comes inclusive of 57mm high flow pipework to compliment the incredible tube and fin cored intercooler.

4WD Controller - The GR Yaris comes inclusive of 3 drive modes from factory which alter the power distribution across the two axles amongst other things. The Syvecs 4WD controller takes full control over the four wheel drive system meaning you can tweak your handling and power just how you want it. You also benefit from an improved launch control program, left foot braking, burnout mode and much much more!

Remapping - The hot topic on every GR Yaris owners mind, which mapping is best for me and my car? Ultimately it's a very straight forward question to answer, MAXD mapping consistently outperforms it's competitors in all aspects. The amount of development time put in really shows in day to day driving and datalogging. With this GR350 calibration you will see up to 350bhp and 430nm of torque, huge gains for minimal hardware changes without stressing the motor too much. These figures are backed up by over a year of GR Yaris engine development work, plus independent dyno results and fantastic customer reviews.

The MAXD GR350 remap gives you the flexibility to customise your calibration to your requirements. By default we include 3 different power levels with on the fly map switching via the steering wheel. You have access to Low Boost (1.4 Bar Road Spec), Mid Boost (1.6 Bar Track Spec) and High Boost (1.8 Bar Drag Spec). You also have the option of recalibrating overrun/crackle for your GR350 map, simply lift off the throttle for a much more enthusiastic exhaust note, without harming your engine.

Unfortunately Toyota are renowned for locking down their ECUs to the point where they are impossible to remap, sadly the GR Yaris follows this trend meaning the only way to fully expose the potential in your car is with a standalone ECU such as the Syvecs included in this power package.
