Pumaspeed have been active on the ST225/MK2 RS platform since their release and we are constantly developing the ultimate performance packages for your car. We understand how daunting it can be selecting the correct spark plugs, cluches or even performance parts, so we have simplified this process with our recommendations below:

The base 1R kit comes with the following:

• Ramair Group A induction kit
• Maxdout Stage 1, 2 and 3 tuning box

The Ramair Group A induction kit will offer 2 things. Firstly it will give you car more air flow, allowing colder air to enter through the intake and therefore making performance more reliable. Secondly it will unlock a great level of induction sound without being too intrusive. The Maxdout Stage 1R will give the car a boost in power across the whole RPM range, and dependent on fuel/hardware, will see the car to 275/280bhp comfortably.

Please note, to run Stage 2 and Stage 3 files, you will need the relevant hardware.

The options explained:

Intercooler - Most turbo cars tend to benefit from an uprated intercooler once you start adding more power, and the Focus ST225 is definitely one of them. The Focus ST has a particularly poor standard intercooler that struggles at Stage 1 levels of power, whilst you can run Stage 1 without an intercooler, Pumaspeed recommends you switch it out to the R-Sport Stage 1, or Stage 2 intercooler to help cool things down.

Clutch - The Focus ST225 is known for having a clutch that can handle a decent grunt of torque, however if you opt for the Stage 1 tuning package you may experience clutch-slip, this is a well known problem on modified ST225 cars, and can be remedied by installing the Genuine OEM Focus RS MK2 clutch, which out of the box can handle more power, and is perfect for applications up to 400bhp

Spark Plugs - With more power inevitably comes more heat, one way to combat this is to run upgraded and/or cooler spark plugs, it's good common practice to change the spark plugs every 2 years or 24,000 miles. So that makes these the ideal replacement. Please note, the spark plugs in this package will not come pre-gapped.

Crossover Pipe - The Group A Ramair Induction kit included within this kit is a great start to improving the air quality and air temperature for your Focus ST225, for ultimate gains be sure to add on the Ramair crossover pipe to complete the full induction kit, unlocking the incredible induction roar that the 2.5 5 cylinder can produce.
