Bedding in and everyday use

New pads and discs should be bedded in progressively: use a series of moderate stops from road speed, letting the brakes cool between runs, and avoid heavy or sustained braking in the first few hundred miles. Performance compounds like DS2500 usually make more dust and noise than standard pads, which is normal. If you change compound, fit new discs or have the old ones skimmed so the pad beds onto a clean surface.
