Product Overview Pumaspeed has been championing auxiliary turbo cooling on the ST180 for over a decade. Long before off-the-shelf kits existed, our workshop was custom-fabricating solutions to stop super-heated water from the turbo transferring straight back into the header tank. While those early days involved custom brackets and pieced-together hoses, AIRTEC Motorsport has now stepped in with a highly refined, complete bolt-on solution.

Developed using 3D scanning and CAD software, this dedicated turbo cooler mounts neatly behind the front bumper. By removing the fog light, a custom-designed sealed scoop directs a constant flow of fresh, cold air straight through the cooler’s core, effectively lowering coolant temperatures before the fluid rejoins the main system to keep running temperatures steady.

The Pumaspeed Verdict  AIRTEC has put together a beautifully manufactured and comprehensive kit, complete with laser-cut brackets and high-quality Pro Hoses silicone lines so its a direct and easy fit with no hassles. However, we believe in full transparency when it comes to performance upgrades. Because auxiliary coolers run on smaller-bore pipework, the overall flow rate and absolute cooling capacity are inherently limited. Plus its a tad expensve vs the Escort RS Turbo additional turbo Cooler kit at £150 ( but you do have to make your own brakets) 

If you are pushing your ST180 on the track or fast road, this kit is an excellent supporting modification. But for maximum, uncompromised cooling, we highly recommend upgrading to a full-size AIRTEC or Pumaspeed R-Sport Main Alloy Radiator. A main performance radiator utilizes substantially larger pipework to flow all the coolant a highly tuned engine demands.

Pumaspeed Pro-Tip: To maximize your ST180's cooling system efficiency, we highly recommend installing an earlier-opening thermostat. Going back to old-school tuning tricks, adding a small bypass drill hole into the outer area of the thermostat will further assist with continuous coolant flow.
