How it works
On forced-induction engines like the EcoBoost, high boost pressure exerts force on the valve heads, effectively reducing the valve spring's seat pressure. At high RPMs, this can cause the valves to not close fast enough, leading to a misfire and valve damage. The I. Howell Area 6 uprated springs counteract this issue by providing a stronger spring rate and higher seat pressure, ensuring precise valve control for a smooth and powerful engine at all speeds.
