QUICK START PROCEDURE

Installation Instructions for MAXD Software

Software and Driver Installation

Begin by plugging in the clear Maxd tuning box into your Windows laptop using the supplied Mini USB cable. On the USB Stick included in your package, install the supplied driver titled ‘XDEVICE_Driver_Installation’, failure to do so may result in the Maxd Out Software functioning incorrectly.

Once the driver has been successfully installed you can proceed to install the Maxd Out software titled ‘‘Maxd_Ford_Installation’. (If your software is out of date, you can download the latest version by following the link above.)

Once both driver and software have been installed to your laptop, please restart your computer.

Software Version Identification Process

In order to proceed with the following steps you will need to connect the clear Maxd Out tuning box to your OBD port located to the lower right of the steering wheel (RHD Models) and turn the ignition ON. Before proceeding with the following steps please turn off any electrical items such as headlights and radio, and make sure your laptop has a full battery charge. Please also leave the driver’s door open whilst using the software.

Step One
Open the I Flash Ford software and follow the prompts on the screen by pressing next until you reach the ECU selection screen.

Step Two
Select your ECU type from the drop down menu (Please refer to your Read Me guide or contact us if you are unsure) and click next. The software may ask if you know better, press yes to keep your new selection.

Step Three
You will now be brought to the read and program screen where you need to select Read ECU Memory, the software will now ask you where you want to save this read of your ECU, we recommend saving this either on the USB stick provided or the desktop for ease of access. *If prompted please select calibration data only*

You should then be greeted by an additional window, this process will take up to 10 Minutes to read the ECU, please do not interrupt this process. Once the file has successfully been read, this needs to be emailed to our software engineers at pumaspeedfiles@yahoo.com along with the name the remap was purchased under, the files required and your Pumaspeed order number.

Please allow 2 working days, not including weekends and bank holidays, whilst we prepare and organise the tuned ECU file to be emailed back to you, once you receive your file and save it to your computer, you are ready to proceed to Step Four.

Step Four
Repeat Steps One and Two and proceed to the read and program screen. This time you need to select Program ECU Memory. The software will now ask you to locate your tuned ECU file which was emailed to you previously.

Once this file has been selected the software may ask you to turn the ignition off, wait for 5 seconds, turn the ignition back on, then press ok to proceed with the programming process, turning the ignition back on may take a couple of attempts.

At this point the programming process will begin and you will arrive at the final screen, please do not interrupt this process. Once complete you will be prompted to switch the ignition off, you should then receive the message that ‘ECU has been successfully programmed :-)’
