Pumaspeed are constantly pushing the performance boundaries of the Fiesta ST Mk8 so it's no surprise that we are the first performance tuning company to reach 300bhp on the new Mk8 ST.

There are different tuning packages available for the ST Mk8, whether you're after a simple bolt on Stage 1 or Stage 2 package for your newly purchased hot hatch, or you're looking for the ultimate 300bhp track weapon, you've come to the right place. We are the hottest in the world right now for the Mk8 ST, so why go anywhere else?

We understand how daunting it can be selecting the correct intercooler or induction kit for your car so we have simplified this stage 3 300bhp package deal with our recommendations below.

This Stage 3 kit includes by default; X37 Hybrid Turbocharger and MAXD Out Stage 3 Mapping. There are then options to add a Tuning Box, Induction KitIntercooler, Catalyst, GPF Delete and Exhaust. - Pumaspeed Recommends This As the Perfect Set-Up.

The X37 Turbocharger has already sold many units into the UK and Europe meaning it is the most popular hybrid unit available on the market today. It has also been fitted onto the owner / group admin of the Mk8 Fiesta ST Owners (Official) Facebook group: Dave Holding's car who made a whopping 299.2bhp on the dyno... with a standard air box and standard induction pipe work !

The options explained:

For 300bhp at Stage 3 you will need: the X37 Hybrid Turbo, Uprated Induction Kit, Uprated Intercooler (Full Height), Decat/Sports Cat, GPF Delete, GPF-Back Exhaust, and our MAXD Out Stage 3 Mapping

X37 Hybrid Turbo -
This new X37 hybrid turbocharger from Pumaspeed has pedigree in its blood and is designed to help the 1.5 three cylinder ST engine of the Mk8 Fiesta breathe properly, allowing for 300 plus bhp to be made. It is fitted with cut back exhaust blades, a newly designed 7 blade turbine with extended tips, reverse rotation geometery, improved thrust bearing for better lubrication and thus, longevity, and a CNC machined re-profiled compressor cover. Pumaspeed have had this turbo in stock for over a year now for development and testing. After many miles of road and dyno time, we can proudly say that the new X37 is bolt-on ready and will make over 300bhp with the recommended hardware and MAXDOUT Stage 3 remap . Pumaspeed Recommends: X37 Hybrid Turbocharger.

Induction Kit-
The restriction of the standard airbox on the ST Mk8 has already stopped us in our tracks. 300bhp is the number we have brought to you today, but now the Pro Alloy and Ramair induction kits are released, we are hoping to update this number to 305 or even 310 with revision mapping from MAXD Out. The induction kits available today are between two market leaders; Ramair and Pro Alloy. Our development orange car is fitted with the Ramair kit which boasts unrivalled turbo flutter, a well engineered alloy induction pipe and certainly has the pricing edge at just £150. They are in stock to purchase today. The Pro Alloy kit is slightly more expensive, but, it is the ONLY kit on the UK which will offer the cross over pipe to the turbo, therefore allowing more air flow and more power. We expect the Pro Alloy kit to make more power on the dyno. Pumaspeed Recommends: Pro Alloy Full Stage 3 Induction Kit with Crossover.

The intercooler from factory on the Mk8 ST is quite impressive, but for the hybrid turbo power, a full height intercooler is required or the NEW R-Sport 90mm core stage 3 as a minimum. We have the Wagner Tuning, the Pro Alloy full height intercooler, and soon we will have the R-Sport full height intercooler arriving in to stock. The Wagner Tuning intercooler is made in germany and so naturally boasts amazing build quality. Also, the end tanks scope up to the full height of the intercooler, meaning the maximum flow of air is cooled for the full length of the internal volume. The Pro Alloy intercooler is another serious piece of kit. Manufactured here in the UK this intercooler is similar to that of their Mk7 ST180 design but instead of having hoses do the 90 degree bend it is now alloy pipe; beautiful design. Again with the end tanks scoping up to the full height of the cooler this will offer immense cooling. Pumaspeed Recommends: Either Intercooler, They're both £575 and the quality is perfect on both!

Catalyst -
The stock catalytic converter has been designed to cope with upto 240 bhp power level, when pushing past stage 2 power levels the cat temps will rise to a point where it will begin to cause damage to the internals of your stock catalyst, also due to the small pipe diameter they tend to be rather restrictive even if the internals are removed. When you upgrade to a decat or sports cat therefore you can remove this restriction and allow yourself to add the upgraded mapping and make your car more powerful. A decat gives the best value for money and as a byproduct you will gain more noise. A sports will allow you to flow more air just like a decat, and will give you a little bit more exhuast noise, but not as agressive as a decat will. A sports cat will however keep you fully road legal and pass an MOT. Pumaspeed Recommends: Scorpion Decat (for motorsport use only) and Milltek Sports Cat for road use. 

GPF Delete -
When developing the MAXD Out mapping for the X37 turbocharger, we managed to make very close to 290bhp on our own Orange car even with the standard exhaust system after the downpipe, so GPF and standard GPF-back. By adding a Scorpion GPF delete and a Scorpion GPF-back system, we managed to make 300bhp. The GPF therefore can be seen to withold 10-14bhp and thus it is a requirement in the Stage 3 kit to have a GPF delete. A GPF delete will also benefit you for a much better exhaust sound, but be aware that a non-res GPF delete is VERY loud so we recommend a resonated GPF if you're going on track or if you have a decat or non-valved GPF-back system.  Pumaspeed Recommends: Scorpion Resonated GPF Delete.

Exhaust -
For most customers, the exhaust will be the first thing to change on your new car, and rightly so, not only will it give more noise personalising the car to your liking, but it will offer a performance benefit too! To a certain extent, the larger bore the exhaust, the more exhaust gases you can flow and the more power you can make, however, go too far and you can lose. Both Scorpion and Milltek make great sounding, well built systems for the Mk8 ST. The Milltek GPF back system is the louder of the two available (when comparing the two valved systems, valve open) and Scorpion Valved is the more expensive. Scorpion however do offer a non-valved system for those who like things a little 'too' loud which is cheaper than all others! Pumaspeed Recommends: Scorpion Valved Exhaust.

Mapping - The hot topic on every ST owners mind, which mapping is best for me and my car? Ultimately it's a very straight forward question to answer, MAXD Out mapping consistently outperforms it's competitors in all aspects. With stage 3 you will see upto 300bhp on a nedium spec car and over 300bhp on highly spec'd cars. These figures are backed up by over a year of development work on the turbocharger unit and months of development work on our orange wrapped car, independent dyno results and fantastic customer reviews. 

The MAXD Out tuning tool gives you theDIY  flexibility to switch mapping yourself at home, and then return to the stock mapping at anytime, all you'll need is a windows laptop. You also have the option of adding additional burbles to your stage 3 map, simply lift off the throttle in sport mode and listen to your hot hatch pop and bang, without harming your engine. Pumaspeed Recommends: MAXD Out.
