The New X48 400 bhp 8 Blade Hybrid Turbo is like no other.  Built to out perform all the competition with a huge free flowing one of a kind 9 Blade GTX style exhaust wheel and full brand new 8 blade CNC billet compressor wheel. It has proven that 400bhp is achievable for every ST225 owner.

Is a 400bhp Focus ST easy to use as a daily driver?

Looking at the below Graph you can easly see that 300bhp is available from as low as 3500 revs, this means that with exceptional quick spool times this new X48 certainly isnt a laggy unit and can be easily be driven daily without affecting the already beautiful way the ST255 responds on the road.

Will the car need a forged engine?

Pumaspeeds Experience of the ST225 has led us to recommend the following additions to the internal spec of the engine:

300-330 bhp - We suggest a block mod shim kit be fitted to strengthen the deck of the block - Please note this modification is well worth doing, even at stock levels of power!

380-450 bhp - We suggest forged pistons and rods be used as the OE items are only rated to 370-380bhp, you can find engine build kits listed under the ST225 product section.

The car pictured below made a very respectable 398bhp, it had stock OEM pistons and rods plus the popular "block-mod" applied to the deck of the engine block. Pumaspeed recommends forged pistons and rods for a car of this power.
